Description
S CHICKAMAUGA CREEK. SHALLOWFORD RD BRIDGE TO STERCHI FARM DETAILS on Sunday October 22.
It’s an easy 5 mile Class I so about 3 hours counting a break half way down.
DIRECTIONS TO SHALLOWFORD PUT IN. From Amnicola Hwy turn right onto 153 S and go a couple of miles and take the Shallowford Rd exit. Turn right for south and go a couple of miles to the bridge over the S Chickamauga Creek. Go over the bridge and then turn right at the L & W Supply and the put in is right there.

SHUTTLE DIRECTIONS. Turn left and go back out to 153 and turn left for North.
Go to the last exit before the dam which is Exit 6 Amnicola Hwy.
Turn left and go over 153 and then immediately left again for Access Rd.
Take the first right onto Old Harrison Pike. Go a couple of miles and you’ll see the creek on the left.
Follow the main road which turns left over the creek and right after the bridge turn left into Sterchi Farm.

There’s a place for a break on the left just past the Lightfoot Mill bridge and an even better gravel bar just a little further down.
Class I at the bridge below the Lightfoot bridge and a couple of shallow spots. Go all the way right.
There is a bridge at Lightfoot Mill Rd, then 2 RR bridges , a pipe -no problem, then Bonny Oaks steel bridge and 2 more RR bridges.
At low water there are 5 fish weirs between Shallowford and Lightfoot. Keep your eyes open to spot them.
